Playin' at the Park

We decided to enjoy the awesome weather we were having and let Elle experience the park for the first time! We walked over with our friends and let the kids play around. Elle enjoyed her first ride in a swing and trip down the slide!! I think we will be there a few more times this summer! Elle played so hard she got tuckered out and fell asleep in her stroller on the way home! We actually left her in there when we got home and she slept for an additional 30 minutes...yeah for us!!

Fishin' with Grandpa Uresk

It was a beautiful day here today and there were a lot of people out and about enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. Trent's dad called us after dinner and told us to come down to Yankton Lake where he was fishing! We loaded up the camping chairs and drove three minutes to the lake. Here are a couple of pictures of Elle with her grandpa. He caught a perfect little fish...just her size. At first she didn't know what to think, but then wanted a closer look!!

Easter Sunday

So we had a great Easter!! Our fun neighbors invited us over to color easter eggs on Saturday and then a big easter feast on Sunday afternoon! We had BBQ ribs, cornbread, salads, cobbler and it was all very yummy. We took a picture of Elle in her easter dress...so sweet!

Mt. Rushmore & Crazy Horse

I am sure Elle won't remember this little trip, but that is why we document them in pictures, right?! It was really interesting for me to read all about how these amazing sculptures came to be. Who would decide to carve the faces of four presidents into the side of a mountain? We spent time in the museum and I was able to learn a lot!! Here are some pictures from the day!

Swim Time

So I really wanted to take little Elle to the pool before we headed out of town. So, I bought her a super cute butterfly swimsuit and we headed for the water. i should have taken a clue that Elle wasn't feeling very well, because she had been acting really mellow all day. She slept all the way to the pool. When we got there, she felt really warm. I thought it might have been from the car ride. When I got her into the pool she just laid like a little lump...not like her at all. So I cut our trip short and anded up giving her Tylenol for her fever!! Maybe we will have better luck next time!!
Speaking of next time...we had a chance to go visit Mt. Rushmore the past couple of days and the hotel we stayed at had a water park!! Elle was feeling good...so we took her down to see what she would think. She was very hesitant at first, clinging on to me for dear life, but soon relaxed and by the end she thought it was pretty neat!! There was so much to look at and do, we had a hard time getting her to look at the camera for pictures. I thought we got some cute ones though!!

My "closest" Friend

Trent and I had to make a trip yesterday to Omaha, NE to pick up a trailer for one of his co-workers. I remembered that a great friend of mine, an old roomate in fact, lived in Omaha. I was able to look up her number and give her a call. We went to her house and visited for like three hours!! I love her!! I hadn't seen her in five years...so we had a lot of catching up to do. Our next move is to Norfolk, NE which is only an hour and a half away from Omaha. We decided that we would get together at least once a month.

Laundry Day!!!

So, I am currently at the laundromat doing our weeks worth of laundry! I told Trent that I was going to be blogging during this time and that Elle was his responsibility for the hour. He wasn't quite sure about the arrangement...but he took exploring around town!! A little about our new little branch. There were 27 people at church (including children). The branch membership clerk "Doc" had a ponytail, dangling earing and a black leather biker's vest!! Seemed like a nice guy though. It was testimony meeting and I think everyone there bore there testimony and there was still A LOT of down time!! The branch president is moving this weekend to Iowa, so that means there will be 21 people at church next Sunday. It could be an interesting time here. Our branch boundries go about 60 miles into Nebraska and still we are this small!! Just means there is lots to do. I am saddend, however, as there is not another female in the branch between the ages of 25-40. The branch is also really spread out, so it is not like home!! I am attaching a few pictures of our laundry day. Just so you know, I only get one bar on my cell phone at the trailer and the internet is VERY tempramental!! I will do my best to get on as often as I can!
